James Arthur Shackelford

James Arthur Shackelford of Panama City, Panama formerly of Thomasville Ga. Passed away March 4, 2011. Services were held at the El Santuario Nacional Church, in Panama City Panama March 10, 2011. Mr. Shackelford was laid to rest at the Parque Del Recuerdo Cemetery. He was born March 18, 1935 in Thomas County, GA. He was the son of Marie Cox Shackelford and Richard Rufus Shackelford who preceded him in death. In the past Mr. Shackelford was a business man in Thomasville. He owned numerous businesses in Central America. He was a loving father and a faithful friend who would always lend a helping hand in a time of need. The word quit was not in his vocabulary. He always saw a solution, where most anyone else would have given up. He is survived by a daughter Ann Aycock Johnny of Thomasville Ga., son Gerald Shackelford of Panama City Panama, daughters Vickie Hurst of Thomasville Ga. and Nathalie Cano Dean of Panama City Panama. Grandchildren Chastity Kirk Brad of Ochlocknee GA, Harlen Shackelford of Thomasville GA, and Dylan Cano of Panama City Panama. Great Grandchildren Jacob Lewis and Braelyn Kirk. He is also survived by a brother Charlie Shackelford. Siblings who preceded him in death are a brother Richard Shackelford and sisters Cynthia Stillwell, Betty Rogers, and Patsy Godwin.
