James Arthur Boots Bates

Graveside services for James Arthur Boots Bates of Moultrie are at 3:00PM on Saturday, April 10, 2004 at Hopewell Cemetery in Colquitt County. Honorary pallbearers are Jason Beard, Randy Bates, Michael Bates, Kane Key, David Moncrief, Danny Moncrief, Michael Brock and Joey Bonner. Mr. Bates died April 8, 2004 at his residence after a lengthy illness. Born September 23, 1935 in Colquitt Co., GA he was the son of the late Arthur S. and Bertha Cooper Bates. He was married to Cora Lee Brock Bates who survives. Mr. Bates was of the Baptist Faith. Other survivors include sisters, Blanche Burgner of Jacksonville, FL, Faye Goss and husband, Jimmy of Saint Mary?s, GA, Janice Key of Moultrie, brothers, Bennie Bates, Ruis Bates, Raymond Bates and wife, LaRhue all of Moultrie; several nieces and nephew and great nieces and great nephews. A brother Larry Bates preceded him in death. The family will be meeting at the home of Janice Key at 409 Gene McQueen Rd., Moultrie, GA.
