Services for James Buchanan ?J.B.? Maddox of Ochlocknee are at 11:00AM on Friday, July 30, 2004 at Barnett?s Creek Baptist Church where he was a member. The Rev. Leon Van Landingham and Dr. Julian Pipkin will officiate and interment will be in Barnett?s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Tim Reneau, J. B. Maddox, Todd Maddox, Matt Maddox, P. T. Fielding and Ben Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Ronny Herring, Waylon Thompson, John Thompson, Jim Thompson, Ron Farmer, Tommy Ellis, Mark Maddox, Randall Smith, Cleamon Giles, Russ Singletary, Everette Reeves, James Cox, Dr. Fritz Strese and Dewey Reeves. Mr. Maddox died July 27, 2004 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born June 25, 1918 in Ochlocknee, GA. he was the son of the late Oscar and Charlie Irene Miller Maddox. On September 6, 1942 at the home of Rev. A. T. Hart at Barnett?s Creek he married Elizabeth McMillan Maddox who survives. Mr. Maddox was a retired Farmer and retired Rural Mail Carrier for the United States Postal Service. He was a former Chairman for Board of Deacons, Sunday School Superintendent, on Board of Trustees for Ochlocknee High School and on Board of Trustees for Thomas County Schools. Other survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Anne M. and Larry Reeves of Thomasville, GA, sons and daughters-in-law, James B.. Jr. and Peggy Maddox, John M. and Renee Maddox all of Ochlocknee, grandchildren, Michelle Maddox, Stephanie and P. T. Fielding, Dedi and Ben Smith, J. B. Maddox, Todd Maddox and Denise Hurst, Matt and Alicia Maddox, Tim and Maggie Reneau, great grandchildren, Kaylin Maddox, Madison Reneau, Katie Smith, Abby Fielding, Cheridan Maddox, Taylor Hurst, nieces, Carolyn Miller, Barbara Daniel, nephew, Mark Maddox, special grandchildren, Dyanne and Buddy Bodiford, Buck, Brandon, Shelby and Gracie Bodiford, Michael and Vickie Morris and Sandie and James Morris. Memorials may be made to Barnett?s Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM on Thursday at the funeral chapel. Visitors may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com .
