James D. Chandler, USMC (Ret.), 90, passed away April 4, 2019. He was born on April 11, 1928, in Greensboro, NC to the late Sumner and Magnolia Crumley Chandler. His wife of 59 years, Nancy Fricks Chandler, a granddaughter, Mandy Harkins, his sister, Barbara Cleveland and brother, Lee Chandler also preceded him in death. He graduated from Commerce High School in Commerce, Ga and attended Berry College. Captain Chandler served in the USMC until his retirement. He is a World War II, Korean, and Vietnam Veteran. He is survived by his daughters, Carol Inman, Beth Chandler, Susan Chandler and PJ Sellers, five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, wife, Maurice McMath Chandler and stepdaughters, Vickie Lutes, Janice Dolan and Pattie Butler. A graveside service, with Military Honors, will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, April 7, 2019, at Laurel Hill Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Cooper officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Willson Hospice in Albany, GA (320 Foundation Ln, Albany Ga 31707).
