Services for James T. Clifton, Sr., 86, of Thomasville will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Pineland Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Clifton passed away June 4, 2015 at his residence. Born November 26, 1928 in Irwin County, Ga, he was the son of the late Milton Onan Clifton and Lula Bryant Clifton. He was married to Ruth Bennett Clifton, who preceded him in death. Mr. Clifton was a veteran of the United States Army serving as Sergeant during the Korean War. He was a faithful Christian who was a member of Pineland Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was the Electric Superintendent for the City of Thomasville. He started his career with the Water & Light Department as a posthole digger, and through 34 years of hard work he worked his way up to Electric Superintendent. Mr. Clifton grew up in a farming family and continued farming as a hobby throughout his life. He is survived by his daughters & sons-in-law, Donna & Martin Champion of Thomasville and Melissa & Walt Pinder of Jesup, daughter, Carolyn Clifton and, son & daughter-in-law, Jimmy & Deborah Clifton of Pelham; grandchildren, Jessica Beck, Heather Brinkley, Brittany Ansley, Erin Spiceland, Allison Pinder, Kerri Halbert, Anne Clifton, Clara Clifton, Emma Clifton and Aaron Miller; 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Virginia Herndon and Myrtle Bell. Donations may be made to Pineland Baptist Church, 2031 E. Clay St, Thomasville, Ga 31792 or the Gideons International, P.O.
