James Cleveland Coffee Jr., 83, of Thomasville, passed away on May 10, 2026. He was born in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, on February 25, 1943, to the late James Cleveland Coffee Sr. and Katherine Powell Coffee.
James graduated from Clinch County High School in 1962 and furthered his education at South Georgia Technical Vocational College. James became known for his ability to fix just about anything with an engine. His passion for repairing and restoring machinery was only matched by his love for collecting. A true hunter of good deals, James found joy in finding hidden treasures and bringing them back to life.
A devoted member of Fredonia Baptist Church, James cherished the community and friendships he cultivated there. He will be remembered not only for his mechanical abilities but also for his generous spirit and willingness to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and neighbors.
Survivors include his children, Cynthia Coffee Razvaliaeff (Michael) of Palatka, FL, Amanda K. Patterson (Raymond) of Thomasville, and James Cleveland Coffee, III (Mary) of Thomasville; followed by eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, six nephews, and three nieces.
James is preceded in death by his wife Linda Myrle Griffin Coffee, parents, and sister Mary Katherine Coffee Piper.
A service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 2 pm at Fredonia Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 5-7 pm at Allen & Allen Funeral Home. James will be laid to rest next to his wife at Fredonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
