James Eric Owens

Eric Owens, 76 of Thomasville passed away on March 20, 2024. Eric was born on April 30, 1947 to Henry and Louise Owens. He married the love of his life Nancy House on May 1, 1976. Together they have three children, Michaelyn Christensen (Trevor), T.J. Owens (Sandra), and Erin Tracy (Dylan). Eric loved to play games with his grandchildren Barrett, Knox, Ryder, Cameron, Rhett, Corbin, Alyssa, and Hamp. Eric loved hunting, fishing, leatherwork, a little Bailey's in his morning coffee, and the Georgia Bulldogs. He was of the Christian faith and attended First Baptist Church in Thomasville. Eric devoted his work career to vocational and technical education at Thomas Technical Institute and the Florida Department of Education. He is survived by his mother, wife, children, grandchildren, and sister Beverly Brown and her sons Brian and Sam Trance. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to a charity of your choice. The family will celebrate his life with a graveside service on Carolina St. within Laurel Hill Cemetery on Saturday, April 20th at 11 am. Jesse Gaines will present the eulogy and music will be done by Wes Daniel.
