Services for James Monroe “Red” Fletcher will be Thursday, March 14 at 2PM at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Ray Council, Rev. J. B. Miller, and Rev. Sibiley Matchett will officiate. Born September 27, 1932, he was the son of the late Thomas Franklin Fletcher, Sr. and Thelma Blount Fletcher. Mr. Fletcher was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church and the Ochlocknee American Legion. He served 2 years with the United States Army and worked for Capital Auto Parts for 25 years as a wrecker driver. After retirement he worked for Don (Doc as Red called him) and Jerreann Oliver at their farm in Ochlocknee. Survivors include his children James Paul Fletcher of Thomasville, John Howard Fletcher and his wife Paige of Thomasville, Jeffrey Dale Fletcher of Pelham, and Joy Lynn Ezell and her husband Danny of Keaton Beach, Florida. Other survivors include grandchildren, Caitlin, Laura, and Christian Fletcher and a sister Lenora Jane Townsend of Byron, Georgia. Mr. Fletcher was preceded in death by his brothers Frank Fletcher Jr., Charles Fletcher and John David Fletcher, Sr. The family will receive friends from 1-2 at the Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday.
