James Frederick Evans Iii

Graveside services for James Frederick Evans, III, 87 of Thomasville will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Laurel Hill cemetery. Deacon Dave Wendel will officiate. Mr. Evans passed away February 16 at Camellia Gardens. Born September 28, 1925 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late James Frederick Evans, II and Helen Parker Evans. Mr. Evans was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps and was stationed in the Philippines when WWII ended. He graduated with honors from Georgetown University with a major in economics; he worked for Darby Printing Company and he served approximately 20 years volunteering at the Lewis Hall Singletary Oncology Center. He is survived by his sister, Mary Frances Evans of Thomasville. He was preceded in death by brother, William Parker Evans.
