James Gordon Bryant, Sr.

Graveside services for James Gordon Bryant, Sr., 70, of Thomasville, are at 10:00am, Monday, July 3, 2006, at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Rev. Wayne Meadows will officiate. Mr. Bryant died on June 30, 2006 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Born April 16, 1936 in Marion County, Ga, he was the son of the late Gordon Cranford & Wynelle Hurst Bryant. On April 16, 1960 he married Ruby Jo Gibson Bryant, who survives. Mr. Bryant was employed by Hood Industries as a scale house operator and was retired from Sunnyland as a computer analyst. He was a member of New Shiloh Baptist Church. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Michael Edward & Melissa Bryant, of Thomasville, Jonathan Gibson & Michelle Bryant of Thomasville and James Gordon Bryant, Jr., of Athens, Ga, brothers Eugene Bryant of Niotaze, Ks, Tom Bryant of Radium Spring, N.M., Kenneth Bryant of Cedar Bluff, Al, and Joe Bryant of San Francisco, Ca. Sisters Nell Wells of San Ramon, Ca, and Ruth Briezy of San Luis Obispo, Ca. Grand children Samantha Lovelace, Jordan Cross, Alexandria Josephine and Shelby Jolene Bryant. He was preceded in death by brothers Bobby Bryant and Ronnie Bryant and sister Dorothy Adams. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, July 2; from 2-4 pm.
