James "Jamie" Hampton, 58, of Madison, Florida, passed away on September 2, 2026, from his battle with cancer.
Born on February 3, 1968, in Fremont, California, Jamie was the son of the late Dennis Hampton and Christine Haney. Entering the world prematurely at six months, Jamie fought for his life from his very first day and carried that same fierce, resilient spirit through to the end of his journey.
Jamie began his career early in life as an iron welder before transitioning to the transportation industry, where he spent many years on the road building lasting friendships with fellow truck drivers across the country. Outside of his time behind the wheel, Jamie was an avid negotiator who loved buying, selling, and finding a great deal on just about anything. Known for his keen sense of humor, generous heart, and infectious spirit, Jamie left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He is survived by his three sisters, Gena Norris, Theresa Hampton-Woods, and Dixie Ramagoz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Christine Hampton, and his brother, Eric Hampton.
A service to celebrate Jamie's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, located at 10526 GA Hwy 84 E, Thomasville, Georgia 31757, where he will be put to rest.
