James Harold Heaton

Services for James Harold Heaton, 91 of Coolidge will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Steve Brooks will officiate and interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Heaton passed away November 23, 2014 at the residence of his nephew & niece Ron & Shelia Heaton, who were his caregivers. Born February 5, 1923 in Macon County, Ala, he was the son of the late Thomas Oscar Heaton and Mattie Heaton. Mr. Heaton was a Veteran of the United States Army where he retired as a Master Sergeant. He is survived by sons, James T. Heaton of Salt Lake City, UT, Kenneth D. Heaton of Greely CO; and daughter, Cheryel Rhodes of Denver, CO and several grandchildren & great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son, Vernon Lee Heaton; sisters, Willie Mae Warren, Ethel Graves, Bertha Ham and Ossie Cooper; brothers, Vernon Heaton and Marvin Heaton. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm, Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Georgia, 114-A Mimosa Dr, Thomasville Ga 31799.
