Graveside services for James Henry Peck, Sr. of Thomasville are at 10:00AM on Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at Laurel Hill Cemetery of 5th Street. The Rev. Jerry Lancaster and the Rev. Leigh Ann Raynor will officiate. Mr. Peck died May 23, 2004 at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman, GA. Born April 20, 1921 in Syracuse, NY he was the son of Carl E. and Margaret M. Morris Peck. On January 18, 1944 he married Anne Thames Peck. Mr. Peck was an Engineer for Bell South and was located in Thomasville and Atlanta, where he retired in the mid-1980?s. He served honorably in the armed forces in World War II from 1940-1945, in Hawaii and Italy. In 1945 he left active service but remained in the reserves. He was recalled to service in Korea in 1950 in the U. S. Signal Corps. He returned to civilian life in 1952. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Anne Thames Peck, sons and daughters-in-law, James Henry Peck, Jr. and Gail Peck, of Charlotte, NC, William Thames and Sheila Peck of Spring Mills, PA, brother and sister-in-law, Carl Edmund Peck, Jr., and Millie Peck of East Syracuse, NY, brother, Robert E. Peck of Bristol, VA, brother and sister-in-law, William and Angel Peck of Columbia, MD, grandson and wife, Stephen David and Sherri Peck of Raleigh, NC, granddaughter, Lynn Marie Peck of Los Angeles, CA, grandson, Thomas Christopher Peck of Spring Mills, PA, sisters-in-law, Gladys Thames of Thomasville, Ruth Thames of Thomaston, GA and Joanna C. Thames of College Station, TX. Memorials may be made to Georgia Chapter Alzheimer?s Association, 1512-1 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707.
