James L. Hicks Jr.

Graveside services for James Loyd Hicks, Jr. 83, of Ochlocknee, will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday May 20, 2014 at Little Ochlocknee Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Gene Brock will officiate. Mr. Hicks died on May 17, 2014. Born May 30, 1930 in Thomas County, he was the son of the late James Loyd and Mary Curtis Jackson Hicks. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Germany. Mr. Hicks was a 1948 graduate of Ochlocknee High School and was the store manager for Goodyear Tire Company in Thomasville. He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law Ted and Carolyn Hicks of Ochlocknee and nieces Marsha Hicks-Davis of Thomasville and Cheryl Perkins and her husband Steve of Whigham. Also surving are great nieces Abigail Davis, Allison Davis, April Perkins, great nephew Steven Perkins and a fishing partner Alton Quick.
