James Monroe Jackson

James (Jimmy) Monroe Jackson, 67 of Meigs passed away November 27, 2019 at his residence. Born June 20, 1952 in Meigs, he was the son of the late Robert Lee Jackson and Willie Pearl Bannister Jackson. He was married to Rhonda Cooper Jackson, who survives. He served as a corrections officer and was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam War. Other survivors include daughter, April Jackson of Thomasville; grandson, Noah Diaz-Jackson; sister, Ginger Mazur and husband Brendon of Alpharetta; brother, Shelton Jackson and wife Marsha of Meigs and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents; brothers, Randall Jackson and Joey Jackson and stepson, Austin Hiers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN, 38105. The family will receive visitors at the home of Shelton & Marsha Jackson, 326 Monroe Jackson Road, Meigs, GA, 31765.
