James Harold Johns

Services for James H. Johns, 90 of Thomasville, Georgia will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Grace Pointe Church where he was a faithful member and enjoyed praising and worshiping the LORD with his friends and family. Pastor Brent Welch will officiate. Mr. Johns passed away Sunday, February 2, 2025 at Archbold Hospital. He was born on August 10, 1934 in Tarpon Springs, FL, and he was the son of the late Harry and Ruby Casey Johns. He was married 61 years to the love of his life, Mary Kathryn Johns, who preceded him in death. Mr. Johns was a military veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy as a Corpman. He was a man among men. One of the finest you would ever meet. He treated everyone with dignity, respect and compassion. He retired from a distinguished career in law enforcement after 27 years as a Florida State Trooper. He was a faithful member of The Gideons International for many years, helping to spread the word of God across the globe. He is survived by his children, Sonya Johns of Thomasville and Timothy (Tim) Johns of Orlando, Fl; sister-in-law Lois Sneed of Thomasville, and preceded in death by his sisters Joanne Hill and Claudette Hope Vogel. He had many nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held at Allen & Allen Funeral Home, Friday, Sept. 7th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. The family requests that any donations be made to Grace Pointe Missions Fund or The Gideons International.
