James T. "Jimmy" Manley

September 23, 1940 — December 17, 2020

James T. (Jimmy) Manley, 80 of Pavo passed away December 17, 2020 at his residence. Born September 23, 1940 in Reidsville, Ga., he was the son of the late Wilbur and Helen Rucker Manley. He was married to Harriet Murphy Manley who survives. Mr. Manley graduated from Pavo High School in 1958. He was a farmer all his life and won the Farmer of the Year award in FFA. It was presented to him in Kansas City, MO in 1961. He was accompanied by his wife and parents. He loved his church and his family. He loved fishing and had a large vegetable garden every year that he shared with his neighbors. He was a person who never met a stranger. He is also survived by his son, Chris Manley and wife Debbie; daughter, Vonda Jones and husband Eric; son, Daniel Parrish and wife Kristie, all of Pavo; grandchildren, Ryan Jones, Sydney Jones, Cayden Mathews, Braylon Mathews, Hagan Mathews, Annlee Boutwell, Claire Rowe, Ivey Parrish and Kallie McGee; brother, Wilbur L. Manley, Jr and wife Mary Ann of Pavo; sister, Princella Sentinella and husband David of Covington and numerous nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandson, Devin McGee. He also leaves behind his two beloved Blue Heelers, Maya and Sochi. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Colquitt Regional Hospice, 2516 5th Ave SE, Moultrie, GA 31776. There will be no formal services but there will be a visitation at Mr. Manley’s home at 3011 Ione Church Road, Pavo, Ga 31773, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, Sunday, December 20, 2020.
