Services for James O. Edwards, 79, of Thomasville are 2 PM, Friday, September 12, 2008 at Eastside Baptist Church, where he was a member. The Rev. Tim Robson, Rev. Mike Hanscom, Ray Council and Bob Lamb will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Rich Williams, Travis Gibbs, Sam Crumb, Mark Collins, Scott Roberson, Joe Meng and William Rudd, Jr. Mr. Edwards died September 9, 2008 at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. Born July 9, 1929 in Belhaven NC, he was the son of the late Marshall Edwards and Katie Ball Smith. On July 15, 1967 in Greenville, NC, he married Mary Holder Edwards, who survives. Other survivors include daughter & son-in-law, Brenda & Lew Adam of Merritt Island Fl, son & daughter-in-law, Charles Nathan Buddy & Patti Martin of Crystal River Fl, son, Jerry Martin of Ft. Lauderdale Fl, adopted son Phillip Askenbach of Ft. Lauderdale Fl, daughter, Tami Cox of Thomasville, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and best friend, Bob Lamb of Thomasville.
