Services for Rev. James Earl Pelham, 88 of Thomasville will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, November 14, 2014 at First Baptist Church Chapel of Thomasville, where he was a member. Rev. Tom Jacobs and Rev. Marty Carnes will officiate and interment will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery in Albany at 2:30PM. Mr. Pelham passed away November 11 at Archbold Hospital. Born November 7, 1926 in Faydette, Al, he was the son of the late John Edd Pelham and Bertha Griffin Pelham. He was preceded in death by his first wife Mary L. Pelham in 1979. On June 27, 1980 in Albany he married Myrtice Taylor Pelham who survives. Mr. Pelham was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a graduate of the New Orleans Baptist Seminary and served in the ministry for over 60 years retiring from Coolidge Baptist Church. He was also a graduate of Stetson University and was a member of the Golden K where he served as treasurer. Other survivors include son, James Edward Pelham and wife Melinda of Grover NC; daughter, Susan Pelham Burcham and husband Bryan of Thomasville; grandchildren, Jimi Davidson, Kenneth Burcham, Taylor Burcham and James Earl Pelham; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Maxine Toves of Palatka, Fl; sister-in-law, Judy Pelham of Palatka, Fl and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother, Rev. John Pelham. Memorial may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 2790, Thomasville Ga 31799.
