James William Ragan

James William Ragan, 73, of Thomasville, Georgia, passed away on August 4, 2025. He was born on February 20, 1952, in Thomasville to the late Eddie Lee Ragan and Lillian Joiner. James dedicated his life to being a loving husband, father, and a passionate truck driver. He was self-employed and took great pride in his work on the open road.James married his beloved spouse, Dale Ragan, on February 9, 1980, in Pelham, Georgia. Together, they shared 45 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was not only a devoted husband but also a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. James had a particular love for cooking, vintage collecting, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.

He is survived by his wife, Dale Ragan; children, Bret Ragan (Maggie) of Black Mountain, NC and Chelsea Goins (Adam) of Black Mountain, NC; grandchildren, River and Camilla; and siblings Eddie Lee Ragan Jr. and Margaret Colton.

The family held a private service to honor James’s life.
