Services for James Donald Stewart, 73 of Thomasville will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Johnny Moore will officiate and Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Stewart passed away November 18, 2015 in Tallahassee. Born September 25, 1942 in Atlanta, he was the son of the late James Hulan Stewart and Gertrude Moultrie Stewart. He was married to Jackie Hicks Stewart, who survives. James served in the Air Force for 4 years. He retired from FEMA in Thomasville after being employed there for 26 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Thomasville and played the base guitar for The Harmony Five gospel group. His life was devoted to his wife of 49 years, his children and his grandchildren and was an exemplary model of a Godly man that will be missed by his family and friends. He had an avid love for baseball and softball, and was a sideline coach of THS baseball and softball athletics. He is also survived by his children, Dana Stewart Studdard and husband Jerry and Donald Stewart and wife April all of Thomasville and William “Will” Stewart and wife Donna of Monticello, Florida; grandchildren, Peyton Miller, Brian Miller, Brighton Miller, Ashton Studdard, Trent Studdard, Carter Studdard, Haley Stewart, Emmie Stewart, Tyler Stewart, Palmer Stewart, Emma Grace Vealey, Ashlyn Stewart, Katie Stewart, Tori Stewart and James Daniel “JD” Stewart; sister, Janice Stewart Long and husband Red Long of Marietta and brothers, Michael Stewart and wife Debbie of Dahlonega and Ricky Stewart and wife Vickie of Stone Mountain. The family will receive friends 7-9 pm, Friday, November 20, 2015 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
