James Claude Tanner Jr.

J. C. “Sonny” Tanner Jr. passed away February 5, 2021 at his home in Boston, Ga. surrounded by his family. He was born on March 31, 1932 in Brooks County, GA. to the late James Claude Tanner and Alma Connor Tanner. Mr. Tanner is survived by his children Terry Tanner (Marcia Trawick) of Marietta, GA, Larry Tanner of Boston, Christy Tanner Smith (David) of Eastover SC, Carey Tanner (Sissy) of Boston, and Mark Tanner (Janet) of Boston, 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, sister June Tanner Thompson of Odessa, Texas and friend Sylvia Clements of Boston. He is preceded in death by his wife Lillian Slaton Tanner and brother M. L. Tanner. Grave-side service to be held on Saturday February 13th at 2:30 in the afternoon. In leu of flowers the family has asked donations be made to the Boston Cemetery fund,109 S Main St, Boston, GA 31626.
