James Edward Tomberlin, Jr

James Edward “Eddie” Tomberlin Jr., 59, of Cairo, passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital on March 31, 2023. He was born in Cairo on July 7, 1963, to the late Ernestine Wells and James Edward “Jimmy” Tomberlin Sr. In 1981, Eddie graduated from Cairo High School. He attended First Baptist Church in Cairo and enjoyed helping his neighbors. Eddie loved playing with his grandson Connor James, watching Atlanta Braves baseball, coin collecting, and eating at Maryland’s Fried Chicken in Cairo. He is survived by children Kala Bennett of Adel, Georgia, Cetoria Elise Tomberlin of Rome, Georgia, and James “Trey” Edward Tomberlin III of Thomasville; grandchildren Connor James Tomberlin, Emmylou Bennett, and Miller Bennett; sisters Constance Fulp of Green Cove Springs, Florida, and Lynn Pinacas of Stockbridge, Georgia; nieces Emily Johnson of Stockbridge and Kylie Harris of Jessup, Georgia, and nephews Chris Wilkerson of Gafney, South Carolina, and Jon Simcox of Green Cove Springs; and great-nieces Dallas, and Winter Simcox and great nephew Braydon Simcox, all of Green Cove Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents. The family will be holding a private gathering at a later date.
