Services for James ?Jimmy? William Arnold, 70, of Thomasville, are at 2 p.m., Friday, June 25, 2010 at First United Methodist Church, where he was a member. The Rev. Mike Huling and Rev. Bob Dixon will officiate and interment is in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Arnold passed away June 22 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born, March 31, 1940, in Valdosta, he was the son of the late James Edgar and Carrie Harden Arnold. On Aug. 11, 1963, in Albany, he married Charlotte Durden Arnold, who survives. He worked for Colonial Stores for 27 years. In 1982 he opened Arnold?s Grocery store, in which he owned and operated for 10 years, located on Jackson Street. Other survivors include daughter, Allison Kirksey and husband, Craig of Woodstock; son, Jim Arnold and wife, Amanda of Woodstock; grandchildren, Rachel Kirksey, James Arnold, Sarah Kirksey, Evan Arnold and Annie Arnold; brothers, David Arnold of Valdosta and Ed Arnold of San Diego, Calif. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. before the service at the church. Visitors may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com .
