James F. Mark Brookshire
BROOKSHIRE James F. Mark Brookshire, age 64 of Jacksonville, FL passed into eternal rest at his residence with his loving wife Patricia, at his side on October 25, 2006. Mark lost a long and courageous battle with Parotid Gland Carcinoma. Mark, perhaps better known as ?Chef Mark?, was co-owner, with Patricia, of Tory?s Café for thirteen years. Mark was born December 8, 1941, in Dalton, GA. He is survived by his wife Patricia Barnes Brookshire; his son Jeff Brookshire, daughter-in-law Janet; his mother, Mary Lee Brookshire; brother David Brookshire, sister-in-law Pat; sister Laura Brookshire; Grandchildren, Farris Brookshire and Paige Newman; nephew, Dave Brookshire, all of Atlanta. Mark was predeceased by his father Farris E. Brookshire, and daughter Teri Jaynes. He will be dearly missed by his relatives, Ann and Buddy Wahl, Melissa and Michael Clanton, Leah and Chad; Pam and Frank Barnes, Avery and Frankie; Rachel Brinson, Taylor and Codee, and Laura Phillips all of Thomasville, GA. ?Chef Mark? will be missed by his loyal, loving and dedicated staff from Tory's. Prior to his retirement, he and his staff were actively involved in volunteering for the American Cancer Society, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the Caring Chefs Children's Home Society of Florida. Mark was loved and appreciated by his family and friends. He was known for his delightful sense of humor, his generosity, his creative talent, and his outstanding contribution to his profession. Services will be conducted by Allen and Allen Funeral Home 110 West Hansell Street, Thomasville, GA, Sunday October 29, 2006. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Graveside service and interment to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
