Jan Nelson Taylor

Jan Nelson Taylor was called home on November 5, 2021. The Georgia farm boy loved God & his family and enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and spending time with his growing family. He was so proud of his family and that all of his children and grandchildren accepted Christ.He was born in Meigs, GA to Marvin and Gladys (Cone) Taylor in Meigs, GA on September 10, 1938 and was a 1956 graduate of Cairo High School. Preceded in death by his parents, sister Wanda Braswell, brother Donnie, and niece/daughter Susan Bennett. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Brenda Melton Taylor, and sons Mark (& Michelle) Taylor and Stephen (& Angela) Taylor, and nephew/son Scott Braswell, grandchildren Zac (& Brittany), Brannon, Nic, and Bailee, and great granddaughter, Blakely. A grave-side service will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at 2:00PM at Springhill Christian Church. Lee Powell will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jan’s memory may be made to Springhill Christian Church, 7242 Maddox Road, Ochlocknee, GA 31773.
