Jane Faulk Watt died Thursday, April 3, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Augustin Watt, Jr. They were married June 23, 1958, in Thomasville.
Mrs. Watt was born Dec. 14, 1928, in Chipley, Fla. She was the daughter of John Hughey and Kate Alford Faulk. She attended Ward-Belmont College in Nashville, TN, Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla., and received her master's degree in Education from Valdosta State College. She worked for many years in the Thomas County School System, at Pavo Elementary, Cross Creek Elementary and Central Middle schools. She also served as interim Clerk of Superior Court following the death of her husband. In recent years, she worked at Jerger Jewelers and Glen Arven Country Club.
She loved the visual and performing arts and was a member of the Thomasville Cultural Center and Thomas County Museum of History, and a former pink lady at Archbold Memorial Hospital. She was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church. Her hobbies included tennis, bridge and she appreciated the arts and music.
She is survived by her children, daughter Kate Watt Sedgwick, and her husband Tod of Washington, D.C., daughter Mary Jane Watt McNeill, and her husband, Arch of Ochlocknee, GA., and her son William Augustin Watt, III and his wife, Machelle of Thomasville. Grandchildren Eliza S. Brunson, and her husband Stuart, of Nashville, TN, Caroline C. Sedgwick of Boston, MA, Archer McNeill, Noah McNeill, Rachel McNeill and Patrick McNeill, all of Ochlocknee, GA; Elizabeth H. Watt and Ariel L. Watt, both of Thomasville; and great-grandchildren, Abby Brunson and Mason Brunson of Nashville, TN.
She was preceeded in death by her brothers, John Hughey Faulk, Ralph I. Faulk, Gus S. Faulk and sister Mary Lena Faulk.
A celebration of her life will be held at First Presbyterian Church at 2:30 Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Thomasville or Thomasville Cultural Center.
