Jane Guerrant

Jane Guerrant, 93, beloved mother, died of natural causes on Sunday, January 22, 2017. Jane is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Gordon Guerrant, and her eldest daughter Leslie Fowler. She is survived by three daughters and their husbands: Libby and Kent Reser, Lori and Tom Jones, and Lyn Guerrant as well as six grandchildren and their spouses: Nathan Reser, Josh Reser, Susanna and Jon Schmidt, Hannah Reser, Deborah and David Nigh, and Ben and Annika Jones. Jane was the youngest of 5 girls growing up in rural Missouri where she met her sweetheart, Gordon Guerrant. The couple was married in California on December 1, 1944, right before Gordon was deployed by the US Navy during WWII. After his safe return, they lived in California and Illinois before raising their family in Texas and Georgia. Jane was a loving, devoted wife, mother, and educator working while her husband completed his Ph.D. in Chemistry, raising her four daughters, deftly homemaking and going on to earn her Master in Education at Georgia State University before teaching elementary school for 10 years. Always a big proponent of higher education and a dedicated church member, she actively participated in these activities and encouraged her daughters and others to do the same. Services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday January 28th, 2017 at Dawson St. Baptist Church in Thomasville, GA, her home church for the last 10 years. Interment will be Sunday, January 29, 2017 in Sandy Springs, GA. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
