Jane Herring Harrell Doss

Jane Herring Harrell Doss, 81, formerly of Thomasville, died after a short illness on April 23, 2005 at her retirement home in Cockeysville, MD. She was born in Thomasville, Ga. on August 22, 1923, the daughter of Eustace Horatious and Caroline Herring Harrell. She graduated from Thomasville High School and received her college education at Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville. On September 7, 1946 she married Dr. Richard Halloch Doss in Thomasville, Ga. She was a retired dietician and she and her husband were with the World's Health Organization for many years in Jamaica and Africa before they retired in Maryland. She is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, a daughter Catherine Doss MorrowMartin of Bend, Or., a son Robert Harrell Doss Pia of Sydney Australia, a son Richard Lloyd Doss Maria of Olympia, Wa, four grandchildren, one nephew, two nieces, a number of close friends and one cousin, Alex Crittenden of Thomasville. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Sarah Harrell Mudge. A memorial service will be held in Maryland in May.
