Memorial services for Janet Ann Richards McDonald, 80 of Thomasville will be held at the McDonald residence at 196 Stephens Rd, Thomasville, Ga 31757 on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 at 12PM. Ms. McDonald passed away Sept. 27 at her residence. Born March 22, 1937 in Decatur, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Clessie Richards and Myrtle McClane Richards. She was a devoted nurse and worked for hospitals and home health agencies in Illinois, Georgia, Oklahoma and New Mexico throughout her career. For a time, she was a home health nurse on the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico. Some of her favorite things were traveling, Wedgewood collectibles, Tom Jones and Engelbert Humperdinck music and concerts, Western novels and movies, turquoise jewelry, black cherry ice cream, being active in church and in politics, and doing genealogical research. She was a loving, selfless and forgiving mother.
She is survived by her children, Kevin McDonald (Lynn) of Thomasville, Kent McDonald of Thomasville and Kandice McDonald of Walnut Creek, CA; grandchild, Chris McDonald (Stephannie) Aliesha Davis and Justin Davis;great grandchildren Jep Parnell, T.J. Tucker, Alyssa Tucker and Jaimeson Davis brother, Robert Richards. She was preceded in death by sister, Arlene Richards. Family friends are invited to visit and sign her online guest register at
