Janet H Thompson

Janet (Sissy) Kirkland Huxford Thompson of Thomasville, Georgia was born the third daughter of Jeanett Ham Huxford and Iverson Harris Huxford of Homerville, Georgia on October 15, 1948. A graduate of Clinch County High School, she graduated from Valdosta State University and taught and retired from the Thomas County School District in Thomasville where she met and married William (Bill) Thompson. She had one child by a previous marriage, James (Jamey) Huxford Snook who preceded her in death in 2022. She passed away peacefully on April 23, 2024 following a brief stay at Archbold Hospital in Thomasville. She is survived by her husband Bill of 32 years; two sisters, Emily Huxford Pritchett of Avondale Estates, Georgia and Julia Huxford Smith (Gordon A.) of Savannah, Georgia; one stepdaughter, Sally Thompson Young of Santiago, Chile; two grandsons, Shane Groves, and Cayden Groves of Thomasville; one step grandson, Robbie Young of Carleton University in Minnesota and several nieces and nephews.
