Janet Evelyn Wilson

The funeral service for Janet Evelyn (Winn) Wilson will be held on Saturday, September 24th, 2022 in the Sanctuary at First Baptist Church of Thomasville at 3:30 pm with her son-in-law Pastor Tony Chester officiating. Interment will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at First Baptist from 2:30 to 3:15 pm, prior to the service. Mrs. Wilson passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022 in Thomasville. She was born on April 17, 1935 in Dewey Rose, Georgia, the daughter of the late Thomas Watson Winn and the late Eva Evelyn Hewell Winn of Thomasville. She was a graduate of Thomasville High School and the Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. Mrs. Wilson was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother whom we all loved, admired and respected. She loved the Lord Jesus and served Him faithfully through local churches in Atlanta, San Antonio, TX and Thomasville. She also joined her husband Gene in Gideon ministry for many years. She will be missed by her children, daughter Leah (Hoover) Hodge of Niceville, FL; daughter Carey (Tony) Chester of Cartersville, GA; son Stuart Wilson of Atlanta, GA; and son Sam (Terri) Wilson of Homer, GA; 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Eugene Love Wilson. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Gideons International, P.O. Box 2361, Thomasville, GA, 31799.
