Services for Janice Scruggs Force, 73, of Thomasville are 11:00 am, Friday, May 27, 2011 at First Baptist Church, where she was a member. The Rev. Dr. Milton C. Gardner, Rev. Tom Jacobs and Rev. Brent Welch will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Force passed away May 24, 2011 at Archbold Hospital. Born December 2, 1937 in Morven, she was the daughter of the late Homer C. Scruggs and Hortense Godwin Scruggs. She was married to Ben Force who survives. Mrs. Force worked for C & S Bank and served as Archbold Hospital Auxiliary president, vice president, treasurer, scholarship committee, was special projects chairman, was on the Christmas decorations committee, was finance chairman for annual auxiliary tea, she attended Georgia Hospital Association state auxiliary conventions and was southwest district director for the GHA state auxiliary. She served as a prayer minister for First Baptist Church, volunteered for Troupe shows, and served as a room mother while her children attended elementary school in Valdosta and also was a substitute teacher. Other survivors include daughters, Missy Wilson and husband Donnie, Penny Cooper and husband Shawn, son, Tripp Force and wife Susan; sister, Linda Cooper and husband Harrison; grandchildren, Amber Wilson, Dylan Force, Nicole Cooper, Brittany Crocker, Sarah Wilson and Donna Wilson. She was preceded in death by brother, Charles Scruggs and sister, Diane James. Memorial may be made to John D. Archbold Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship Fund c/o Volunteer Services, P.O.
