Services for Jasper Claud Davis, III of Thomasville are at 2:00PM, Friday, October 21, 2005 at First Baptist Church where he was a member. The Rev. Dr. Milton Gardner and the Rev. Dr. Dan Spencer will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Davis died Oct. 18 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born July 19, 1920 in Camilla, GA he was the son of the late Jasper Claud Davis, II and Annie Lester Chastain Davis. On October 19, 1947 in Thomasville he married Marthalene McRae Davis who survives. He was a 1st Lt. veteran of the United States Air Force where he was a pilot. Mr. Davis was a retired chairman of the board for Davis Water & Waste Industries. He was a past Commander for the American Legion Post #31, past president for the Chamber of Commerce, YMCA, Thomas County Historical Society and was a member of the Confederate Sons. Other survivors includes sons and daughters-in-law, Jasper Claud, IV and Pam Davis of Thomasville, William Harrison and Mary Davis of Pensacola, FL, daughter and son-in-law, Mary Melissa and Fondren Rigsby, son, Samuel Chastain Davis all of Thomasville, daughter and son-in-law, Virginia Ann and Robert Legette of Cairo; fifteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren and sister, Mardre Ann Cox of Dublin, GA. A sister, Helen Davis Tatum and brothers, Renny Rudolph Davis and Harold Forbes Davis, preceded him in death. Memorial may be made to the YMCA, P.O.
