Memorial services for Jean “Darlene” Bryan, 83, of Thomasville will be on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 12:00PM in the chapel of First United Methodist Church with private burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery. The Reverend Jim Smith and Reverend Bob Dixon will officiate. Mrs. Bryan passed away on November 25, 2016. Born February 2, 1933 in Barton, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Henley Wright. She was married for 59 years to John Russell Bryan, Jr. who preceded her in death. Darlene graduate as a registered nurse from Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Cumberland, Maryland. She worked as head nurse in mental health at Archbold Memorial Hospital for a number of years. She also taught nursing at Southwest Regional Technical College and later worked as a nurse for the Thomas County Health Department. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Circle #2. She had a great love for her family and was loved by many. Survivors include daughters Denise (Wylie) Watt Sr. and Valerie (Steve) Odom of Thomasville and son John Bryan of Metcalf. Other survivors include five grandchildren Wylie (Abbey) Watt, Jr., Bryan Watt, Jenna Odom, Sam Odom, and Haley Bryan and great-granddaughters Ada and Mary Watt.
