Jean Elizabeth Irons Singletary

Jean Eliazbeth Irons Singletary, 68, of Thomasville, died July 31,2003 in Thomasville. She was the daughter of the late Robert Nelson Irons and Betty King Irons of Montclair, New Jersey. She was born September 2, 1934 in Montclair and had lived in Thomasville for the past 45 years. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Rick and Julia Singletary of Thomasville and Lewis Hall and Rebecca Singletary of Atlanta and a daughter and son-in-law Jeanne and Greg Hamil of Thomasville. Also surviving are her grandchildren Lewis and Margaret Singletary of Thomasville, Connor and Mitchell Singletary of Atlanta and Michael and Eve Toomey and Lauren and William Hamil of Thomasville, and a sister, Marion Irons Rose of New Canaan, Ct. Mrs. Singletary attended Duke University and graduated from Baylor University. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Thomasville and was a former member of the Junior Service League of Thomasville. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2003 at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church in Thomasville. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lewis Hall Singletary Oncology Center, St. Jude's Children's Hospital and Thomas County Humane Society.
