Jean Holland DuPre, 83, went to be with the Lord on October 1, 2012. Jean was born in Waycross, Ga, June 10, 1929, to the late Wiley Julian and Carol Cannon Holland. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, Oliver Reid DuPre, III and two sisters, Joyce Sampson and Martha Anne Parramore. Mrs. DuPre moved to Thomasville with her family as a young child and remained here, graduating from Thomasville High School and later raising her family here. She was retired from the FEMA Office in Thomasville and had served with the Archbold Auxiliary Volunteers and was a UDC Member. She is survived by her five daughters: Carolyn Shiflet and husband Jack of Tallahassee; Deanne Turner and husband Max of Ochlocknee; Barbara DuPre of Thomasville; Gail Clark and husband Tim of Pavo and Nancy Kolar and husband John of Senoia, Georgia; nine grandchildren: Cary Cox of Harvest AL; Michael Hightower and wife Katie of Birmingham, AL; Kelly Horne and husband Forrest, Reid Turner and wife Jessica, Jessica Faulk and husband Hamilton and Olivia Clark all of Thomas County; Caitlin Muse and husband Josh of Carrollton, Ga; Blair Jackson and husband Tim of Athens, Ga; Courtney Vick of Senoia, Ga and thirteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. DuPre is also survived by one brother, Julian Holland of Alexandria, VA and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5PM – 7PM, Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 11AM at Dawson Street Baptist Church where she was an active member until her health prohibited it. Rev. Lee Waller will be officiating and internment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
