Jean W. Mason

Graveside services for Jean Weidman Mason, 87, of Thomasville will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Rev. Hugh Rockett will officiate. Mrs. Mason passed away June 25, 2015 at Golden Living Center. Born March 12, 1928 in Birmingham, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Emil J Weidman and Dora Leavins Weidman. Mrs. Mason graduated from Cairo High School and attended Joye Business School. She married Robert Mason in Cairo in 1946 and moved to Thomasville in 1951. She worked at Faulk Chevrolet then Archbold Hospital and later at Flowers Baking Company in payroll and accounting. She enjoyed traveling to the mountains, antiques and crafts. Other survivors include her daughter, Nora Walker (Monroe) of Greenville, Florida and son, Ted Mason of Thomasville; grandchildren, Brad McGrotha, Amy Walker Hammock, Marilyn Walker Fritzsche, Monroe Walker, Jr, and Valerie Walker Mundt; great-grandchildren, Harley Mundt, Travis Hammock, Chloe Mundt and Stella Fritzsche. She was preceded in death by daughter, Donna Mason. The family will receive friends 5-7pm, Monday, June 29, 2015 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
