Jeanette Dunlap

Mrs. Jeanette S. Dunlap of Mason, Ohio, peacefully passed away on July 12, 2024, at the age of 94. She was born on December 10, 1929, in Colquitt County, Georgia, to the late Charlie T. and Susie Frances Willis Surrency. Jeanette was a member of Thomasville High School class of 1948, and celebrated a lifetime of love with her late husband, Wheeler Bonner Dunlap Jr., whom she married on February 13, 1948.

Having retired from Georgia Southwestern State Hospital, Jeanette was a devoted member of Fellowship Church of Christ in Thomasville and eventually West Mason Church of Christ in Mason, Ohio. An enthusiastic flower grower, birdwatcher, and tennis player, Jeanette also enjoyed crocheting and dedicated 30 years of volunteer service at Archbold Memorial Hospital. She cherished her time spent in the church and taking leisurely walks in her younger years.

Jeanette is survived by her son, John Randall Dunlap (Mary Helen) of West Chester, Ohio. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Rudy Dunlap (Danielle) of Nashville, TN, Joshua Dunlap of West Chester, OH, Emily Dunn (John) of Fort Mitchell, KY, Rachel Siekman (Billy) of Fort Mitchell, KY, and David Dunlap (Darrian) of Anchorage, AK, as well as her great-grandchildren Max Dunlap and Vivienne Dunlap of Nashville, and Audie Dunn, Tyne Dunn, Ruthie Dunn, and Jesse Siekman, all of Fort Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, as well as her son, Terry E. Dunlap, and siblings Vernon Eugene Surrency, John Othell Surrency, and Barbara Ann Surrency.

The family of Jeanette Dunlap invites family and friends to gather for a visitation from 5-7 pm on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Allen and Allen Funeral Home. Funeral services to honor Jeanette's life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Allen and Allen Funeral Home. Jeanette will be laid to rest at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
