Jeanette Benton Tucker

Jeanette Benton Tucker, 87 of Thomasville, Georgia passed away on November 22, 2022, at Archbold Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born to Christian parents Perry Luther Benton and Sarah Ponder Benton on March 12, 1935. As the 7th of 10 siblings, she was the youngest girl. In the summer she enjoyed swimming and fishing at Gulley Branch with her brothers Ed, Jimmy, Donald, and Ronnie. Mrs. Tucker was saved by her sister Lera when her house coat caught fire by the fireplace. As a young adult, she saved a baby in a neighbor's burning house. Her older sisters Myrtle, Vera, Madie, Lera, and Edna always kept a caring watchful eye on their younger sister. Mrs. Tucker had many happy memories as a graduate of Ochlocknee High School in 1953. Mrs. Tucker was married to the love of her life George L. Tucker for 66 years. Mrs. Tucker was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening, sewing, reading and just being outside. Her favorite activity was being with her family, especially her two grandchildren. Some Mottos of Mrs. Tucker's were: Be Kind, Forgive, and Trust in God. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. She loved Jesus with all her heart and served him all her life. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 2 PM in the Allen & Allen Celebration of Life Chapel. A visitation will be held one hour before the service from 1-2 PM in the Allen & Allen Celebration of Life Chapel. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mona Smith will preside. Survivors are daughters Pamela T. Tucker and Janet Tucker Gaston (Tommy); grandchildren Katie and Robert Gaston; sisters Lera Fielding and Madie McClendon; brothers Edward Benton, Jimmy Benton, and Ronnie Benton; sister and brother-in-law George and Jeanette Stephens and numerous nieces and nephews.
