Jessie Leroy Hurst

Services for Jessie Leroy Hurst, 71 of Ochlocknee will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Teddy Williamson and Rev. Mark Harrington will officiate and interment will be held at Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Donnie Hurst, Brian Hurst, Bobby Hasty, Dallas Ragan, Jerry Wayne Hurst, Jeffery Hurst, Johnny Wayne Hurst, Oscar Ansley, Bill Whitfield, Mike King, Terry Hogan and Dave Hunt. Mr. Hurst passed away August 6 at his residence. Born April 15, 1943 in Waldo, FL; he was the son of the late Jessie Paul Hurst and Mary Lou Mallard Hurst. He was married to Betty Ragan Hurst who survives. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a master craftsman who worked for Cornerstone Construction and a member of New Hope Holiness Church. Other survivors include his children, Shelby Hurst Hogan of Tifton, Benjamin Hurst and wife Becky and Michael Hurst and fiancé Sherry Gentry all of Ochlocknee; grandchildren, Joshua Hogan, Kayla Hogan, Jesse Hurst, Breanna Hurst; great-grandchildren, Jonah Hogan and Bryleigh Hogan; brothers & sisters, Jerry Hurst, Earl Hurst, Johnny Hurst all of Thomasville, and Jean Fredrick of Ohio. He was preceded in death by sisters, Linda Hurst Willis and Jeren Hurst Hasty. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm, Saturday, August 9 at the funeral home.
