Jewell K. Mceachin

Funeral services for Jewell K. McEachin will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday July 24, 2016 at Dawson Street Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Waller officiating. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. She was born on April 26, 1925 in Waycross, Ga to the late Berry Cobb Kirkland and Martha (Mattie) Langford Kirkland. She was a 1943 graduate of Waycross High School. She was a long time member of Dawson Street Baptist Church and was very active in WMU and the local women’s prison ministry. She was married to L.E. McEachin Jr. who preceded her in death in 1997. She was also preceded in death by her sons L.E. (Emmett) McEachin III and Michael Franklin McEachin; grandson L.E. (Mac) McEachin IV; siblings Berry, Lucy, John, Robert, Franklin, and Elizabeth Kirkland. She is survived by her sons Robin McEachin and his wife Debbie of Tallahassee, Fl, Paul McEachin and his wife Vicky of Loganville, Ga, Peter McEachin of Thomasville; daughter-in-law Kitty McEachin of Ochlocknee; grandchildren Michelle, Amanda, Courtney, Joshua, Carrie, Alison, Amy; 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Donations may be made to Dawson Street Baptist Church 1025 N. Dawson St. Thomasville, Ga. 31792.
