Jimmie Lou Mercer, 91, of Thomasville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, in Boynton Beach, Florida. She was born on June 15, 1934, in Arley, Alabama, and was the beloved daughter of Lemons Franklin and Minnie Lou Gilliland.

Jimmie Lou shared a long and loving marriage with her husband, Hubert Paul Mercer. The two were united in marriage on November 28, 1951, in Davie, Florida, and built a life centered on faith, family, and devotion to one another.

Jimmie Lou was devoted to her family, finding happiness in making a warm and loving home. She excelled in the kitchen, eagerly contributing her culinary skills at church suppers. Quilting and crocheting always brought her joy, and her homemade cakes and divinity candy became well known. She was also known for having traveled to 49 states and most of Canada in an RV with her late husband and there are 49+ magnets to prove it. As a loyal member of Rose City Church of God, her unwavering faith guided her life and offered comfort to those around her.

She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Patricia Mercer Naibet of Boca Raton, Florida; her son, Ronny Dale Mercer of Thomasville, Georgia; and her daughter-in-law, Kathy Mercer of Charlotte, North Carolina. She was a cherished grandmother to Shane Paul Mercer, Jordan Naibert Smith, and Ryan Paul Mercer, and a proud great-grandmother to Jenah Dawn Mercer, Riley Rose Smith, Remi Rae Smith, and Ryder James Smith.

Jimmie Lou was preceded in death by her parents; her devoted husband; and her loving son, Rickey Paul Mercer. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, quiet strength, and the deep love she held for God and her family.
