Jo Ann Taylor

Services for Jo Ann Jackson Taylor of Thomasville, Georgia, will be held on Monday, September 30, at 2:00 p.m. at Dawson Street Baptist Church. Reverend Lee Waller will officiate with interment following at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Ms. Taylor passed away peacefully Saturday, September 28, 2019, at her home surrounded by her children. Born on February 5, 1929, in Thomasville, she was the daughter of the late Joe W. and Ethel Jackson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon H. Taylor, Jr. She was the owner of Interiors by Jo Ann and Taylor’s Draperies. Ms. Taylor was a long time member of Dawson Street Baptist Church, where she served on various committees and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She is survived by her sisters - Lucile Burgess and Donna Laws, both of Thomasville; her children - Mike (Cheri) Taylor, of Metcalfe, Ga; Lynn (Norrie) McKenzie, of Acworth, Ga; Chris (Daren) Sanchez, of Lake Park, Ga; Pattie Wood, of Boston, Ga; 11 grandchildren - Morgan Taylor, Hunter Taylor, Garrett (Aubrey) Taylor, Julie (John) Carroll, Matt (Logan) McKenzie, Courtney McKenzie, Britney (Ross) Glass, Jeremy Parrish, Jennifer (Alex) Kirby, Jack Wood, Jaidyn Wood; 7 great - grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Our family would like to thank our special friends - Shalee, Stephanie, Jackie, and Jason of Bethany Hospice. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 29, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Allen & Allen Funeral Home and on Monday, September 30, 2019, beginning at 1:30 p.m. at Dawson Street Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Bethany Hospice Care of Thomasville or the American Cancer Society.
