Joan Morrell

Joan Blair Morrell, 77 of Thomasville passed away August 24, 2022 at her residence. Born January 25, 1945 in Gouverneur, New York, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd & Jean Dodds Blair. She graduated nursing school in 1968 and was a nurse ever since. She had a passion for teaching new nurses. Joan was an avid reader, enjoyed to crochet, science fiction and Jeopardy. She is survived by her son, Rob Morrell and wife Cindy of Coolidge; grandson, Matt Haire and wife Jessica of Beachton; honorary daughter, Tammy Jones along with honorary grandchildren, Shelby Jones and Trey Jones and special friend Liz Jaeger of Thomasville. She was preceded in death by brother, Paul Blair. The family will be holding a visitation on Monday, August 29, 2022 from 5-6 pm at the Allen & Allen Celebration of Life Chapel. A private memorial service will be held at a later date in Gouverneur, New York. Donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Georgia, 910 S.
