Services for Joan Renee Herring Rathel, 49, of Thomasville, are 11 AM, Saturday, June 7, 2008 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she was a member. Bishop Travis Mitchell will officiate and interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Ms. Rathel died June 4, 2008 at her residence. Born March 22, 1959 in Laon, France, she was the daughter of Lawrence Herring and step-mother, Patricia Herring of Thomasville, who survives and the late Jacqueline Hoffman Herring. She was employed with Thomasville Regional Eye Center as a certified Ophthalmic Assistant. Other survivors include son & daughter-in-law, Macalton & Robbie Rathel of Thomasville, daughter, Angel Rathel of Thomasville, daughter & son-in-law, Stephanie & Nathan Lynes of Smyrna, Ga, daughter, Alexis Rathel of Thomasville, brothers, Dovin Herring and Daniel Herring, both of Thomasville and 9 grandchildren.
