Services for Joe Daniel Fallin will be held Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 11AM at Allen and Allen Chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday August 30, 2017 from 5PM to 7PM at Allen and Allen.
Joe was born in Pavo, Georgia on 2/18/42 to Mr. and Mrs. AC “Pat” Fallin (Lota Mae White Fallin). He was the youngest of 16 children. He was raised in Coolidge, GA, until his family moved to Thomasville when he was 11. He graduated from Thomasville High School in 1960 where he was an ALL State Football player and attended Duke University on a football scholarship, where he started at the position of center for 2 years.
Joe was a businessman and opened Fallin’s BBQ on November 22, 1977. He loved his community and was active in many projects in Thomasville. He served on the Thomas County Board of Commissioners and as Chairman of same. Joe was President of Thomasville Chamber of Commerce and was Kiwanian of the Year for his work as Director of Thomasville High Key Club. He umpired for YMCA Little League and High School Baseball games in the South Georgia area. He also loved working with young people and worked with the various Thomas County High School football teams teaching fundamentals and proper snapping technique.
Joe served as Chairman of the Democratic Party in Thomas County for many years and a friend to most everyone he met. He was a Christian and loved the Lord. He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Mary Revill Fallin, daughter, Denise Fallin Atkinson, son, Jonathan, and his wife Deanna Denmark Fallin. He loved his grandchildren: Katie Rondello, Hunter Rondello, Mackenzie Fallin, and Daisy Fallin, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kim, Ashley, Devin, and Adrianna with Kindred Hospice for their kindness, compassion, and friendship throughout a long and painful process.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Thomasville YMCA or the Salvation Army, both organizations he believed in and held in high regard.
