John Dennis Carter, 65 of Thomasville passed away on January 13, 2025. John was born in Thomasville on April 19, 1959, to the late Charles Glen Carter and Dorothy Wade Carter.
Professionally, John was a contractor and was amazing at carpentry. He could build anything you could think of. John loved his work and would only take time off to watch his daughter play and coach softball. In his free time, John also liked to go fishing. John loved his family and cats very much and will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years and the love of his life, Brenda Carter, daughter Courtney Carter Simpson (Robert) of Swartz Creek, MI, nephew Donnie Carter (Melissa), great niece Larran Carter, and great nephews Kipp Carter, Hayden Sloan, Brandon Carter, and Hunter Carter.
He is preceded in death by his brothers Charles Carter and Phillip Carter, and nephew Chuck Carter.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 17,2025 at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 11:00 am with Charles King officiating.
