John Eager Lane

Graveside services for John Eager Lane of Thomasville are at 2:00PM on Friday, November 8, 2002 at Enterprise Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Iron City, Ga. Rev. Hugh Rockett and Rev. Chuck Sayers will officiate. Mr. Lane died Wednesday at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born April 10, 1910 in Iron City, GA., he was the son of the late James Oscar & Alma Cross Lane. On January 6, 1980 in Thomasville he married Edna C. Lane who survives. Mr. Lane was a member of First Baptist Church. Other survivors include a daughter & son-in-law, Betty Jean Lane Jones & Billy Jones of Jacksonville, Fl., sisters, Bessie Blocker of Tallahassee, Fl., Verla Berry of Jacksonville, brothers, Lamar Lane of Hampton, Ga., Bernard Miller, Woodrow McDaniel and Willie Dee Austin of Donaldsonville, GA., grandchildren, Tami Jones, Tony & Cindy Jones & Tood Jones, great grandchildren, Chris & Lauren Jones all of Jacksonville, Fl. and a number of nieces & nephews.
