John Talmadge Hammond passed away Friday December 18, 2020 at Emory Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born on February 4, 1965 in Thomasville, Ga., he was the son of George Hammond and the late Wink Hammond. He owned many businesses over the years including Barbecue Barn, High Cotton Bar & Grill, Hammond's Country Kitchen and Southport Shoe and Luggage. He was an avid gun enthusiast and enjoyed playing billiards. He is survived by his father George Hammond of Thomasville, Ga; brother Cliff Hammond of Blakely, Ga; two nieces and one nephew. His burial will be at Blakely Cemetery at a later date.
